Hey everyone, M. here,

It’s been a big couple of months for sword & sorcery and horror news over here. First came Kingdoms Trembling exploding into the atmosphere from DMR Books like a tome from an alien world carried here on a meteor (to paraphrase a wonderful description from Jangar author L.D. Whitney in my discussion with him and James D. Mills on the Rogues in the House podcast in July).

Then came the releases of my two terrifying tales What’s Behind The Walls and Sherman Dismantled And Afloat in Chthonic Matter Quarterly (Summer 2026 Edition) and Nyctalocos: A Collection of Night Terrors respectively (both available from Chthonic Matter), and the announcement of my upcoming appearance in Mordschlag Magazine #0 with my weird tale of barbarian adventure, Gnawed Bones.

But every once in a while I write something in the realm of the science fictional, and so I am happy to share that my sci-fi comedy Kayfabe is now available in the Strange Tales of Space And Time anthology from Burial Books, alongside a stacked lineup of 30(!) authors.

And as you may have already seen (and which you can look at right there next to this text), it’s got a super fun cover by Betty Rocksteady featuring tentacled extraterrestrial threats and multi-eyed octopoid blobber dudes.

Those familiar with the term “kayfabe” already have an Andre the Giant-sized clue as to what my story is about. Those not in the know, ask yourself: is professional wrestling “real”?

Now think of how you would respond if the fate of the human race rested on you answering in the affirmative.

That is what you’re getting into with my story Kayfabe. I think the story is a blast and I am sure there are some other scorchers in this book, so grab yourself a copy of Strange Tales of Space and Time in your format of choice and get into it!
